  Single row planter in action

Simplicity, quality and speed of planting drove the development of the machine with the aim of providing the farmer/landowner with a tree planter that can, quite literally, be hitched to the back of a tractor and be planting within minutes even by inexperienced planters. Using only a 60-70 hp tractor, the ‘Galmor’ can plant up to 10,000 trees per day with equivalent quality to the most superior of hand planters. The single row planter can also be fitted with a 3 point linkage lowering bracket kit to allow it to used with a compact tractor, as pictured above. The speed at which the machine can plant is achieved as it can carry out three operations in one single process.  It operates by opening the ground, planting (by the operator) and firming the ground round the base of the plant in one pass therefore significantly improving efficiency.

Results – The rate of loss in the original site planted 1997/ 1998 is less than 1% on a site of 250 acres  - root formation excellent (Check carried by UK Forestry Commission)

It is therefore a serious alternative to traditional planting of trees, (including commercial Christmas Trees) hedging etc. The main limitation is the overall size of the plant, anything up to 1 meter can be planted.
